Wall Climbing

Wall climbing is not a common sport amongst the Malaysian people. Most people are not keen of the idea hanging in mid air and not being close to the ground. Such a sport is deemed extreme and dangerous.

However after experiencing it once, most people would actually get hooked to it because of the excitement and the adrenaline from it.

While the beginners will start climbing easy routes, experienced and strong climbers will climb more technical and physically demanding routes. The walls are graded from 5A all the way to 9c+, whereby the higher the number the more difficult the route is.

Wall climbers also have the option to climb the lower walls without wearing the safety harness and not being attached to the rope. That is called boudering. Generally other climbers will spot the person climbing and if he falls, they will guide his fall to make sure the person climbing will land on a mat or cusion.

When you have the time, don't get put off just because it is perceived as a dangerous sport. Go give it a try, you might get hooked to it!
